Just a quick speed test of CenturyLink's gigabit service here in Las Vegas. It's hooked up to my router (TP-Link C3200) with no issues and no additional setup. I hear CL customer service can be a nightmare, but I've not dealt with them enough to comment.
The install took about 20 or 30 minutes. They come out a couple days before the install to run the fiber from the street to the house. They dug a small trench but filled it all in. There's no evidence that they dug my yard up (granted I have desert landscaping and a bunch of rocks). The installer just had to drill a small hole straight into my home office to run it inside. The install looks clean with no major scars to the inside or outside wall.
Quality of services remains to be seen. So far so good. Speed is good. Latency while online gaming is good. The best I can pull while downloading a game from Steam is 60MB/s (480Mbit). Not sure if that's a limitation on Steam's end of if it's being throttled during large downloads.
