EPB Increases Internet Speed for Customers

YOUR DESCRIPTION HAS REACHED THE LIMIT OF CHARACTERS ALLOWED AND WAS CUT. EPB Fiber Optics is increasing the potential Internet speed for its customers and cutting the price of its 1 Gig Internet speed to $69.99.

This is a way of saying, 'Thank you for your business,' EPB CEO Harold DePriest said.

By Oct. 1, EPB will no longer have Internet speeds lower than 100 megabits per second. EPB residential customers who currently have 50 mbps will get 100 mbps for no extra cost. Those with 100 and 250 megabits per second are getting bumped up to a gig.

Current customers who already have 250 mbps speeds will get a price reduction of $70. Those who already have gig speeds will get a price reduction of $230.

EPB has about 55,000 residential and business customers. Nearly 43,000 residential customers and about 4,500 businesses subscribe to EPB's Internet services.
