The bunker sections of the Indian Army have undergone a makeover to incorporate the advancements in climate control technology and survival guides. They have been upgraded to Fiber Reinforced Plastic or FRP to sustain and help the Army survive the extreme cold temperatures and conditions. The newer FRP huts are constructed with different layers of fiber, plastic and other reinforced materials to ensure that the bunkers remain warm inside. Specially designed sleeping bags and good quality food have also been provided to ensure the health of the Army. This is especially required as these bunkers are usually situated in locations where the temperature dips below -40 degrees on a regular basis.
